Welcome to Tweed Palliative Support

Everyone deserves to die with dignity. Wedgetail Retreat is NSW’s only community adults’ hospice. It is part of award-winning not-for-profit Tweed Palliative Support and provides professional respite and hospice nursing care 24/7 to people with a life-limiting illness. Those who can, pay, but many aren’t able to. The hospice supports the vulnerable and disadvantaged in the community free of charge.

Located just outside Murwillumbah, our centre welcomes clients from all over the Northern Rivers region of NSW and beyond. The modern hospice offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for clients and their families and complements the palliative care services provided by the relevant area health teams. The hospice is a tranquil alternative to a busy hospital or aged-care facility for end-of-life care. This ‘special place’ has a dedicated chef, inspirational garden and valley views, wrap-around timber verandas and is a comfortable space to call ‘home’.

Not government funded – Can you help with $10/month?

Our registered nurses and trained volunteer palliative carers improve the quality of life of all our clients and provide them and their family with dedicated support in a beautiful environment.

Despite saving the government hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, our valued palliative care services are not government funded. So we need to raise over $500,000 each year just for nursing wages and much more to train our palliative care volunteers and update equipment. By donating $10/month you will be helping people in the community when they need it most. Thank you.
