Welcome to Tweed Palliative Support

Tweed Palliative Support (TPS) is an inclusive cancer support and palliative care charity that has recently opened NSW’s only adults’ community hospice, Wedgetail Retreat.

Established in 1998, this multi award-winning organisation provides free and donation-based home-hospice support by trained volunteer palliative carers, respite and live-in hospice nursing care, loan of medical equipment, educational courses and Sunshine ‘Pamper’ Days for people living with cancer or a life-limiting illness and their families. We also provide help to children who have lost someone close to them.

TPS offers best-practice, client-centred emotional and physical palliative care support. We work collaboratively with local health professionals and networks to provide these services to over 1200 residents of the Northern Rivers and beyond every year.

Not government funded – Please HELP us fundraise or donate!

Despite saving the state government hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, our valued palliative care services are not funded by NSW Health. So we need to raise over $500,000 each year to directly cover operational costs such as providing 24/7 palliative care nurses, up-to-date medical equipment, nourishing hospice meals and volunteer training.

Can you help us fundraise? Any sporting or community event, Trivia Night, morning tea or BBQ can help to raise vital funds for our charity. If you are able to fundraise or to provide a business partnership, please contact our office. Donations, including Regular giving (e.g. $10/month), are also accepted online. The TPS Hospice Shop in Queen St, Murwillumbah thanks you for your support, too!
